Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, has firmly denied claims that the governor is considering joining any coalition group.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Mohammed dismissed as “fabrications” and “baseless assumptions” a claim made by a Facebook user, George Udom, suggesting that Governor Buni was aligning with a coalition movement.

“Governor Buni has never considered joining any coalition,” Mohammed asserted. He further emphasized that the governor remains fully committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he has served in leadership roles, including as National Secretary and National Chairman for two terms.

Mohammed underscored that Buni’s loyalty to the APC and his continued support for its structure are unwavering. He also rejected any speculation about Buni leaving the party, calling such discussions unfounded.

In response to Udom’s remarks, Mohammed criticized the claims as a “wild goose chase” and a “poor political calculation,” stating that Udom failed to grasp the governor’s political trajectory.

This follows a separate report which alleged that five APC governors, including Buni, might be planning to switch to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 elections. However, there has been no evidence to support these claims, and Buni’s office has categorically denied any such intentions.
