Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has unexpectedly cancelled several stops on the North American leg of his highly anticipated Morayo World Tour, sending shockwaves through his fanbase and reigniting fierce debates across social media platforms.

Among the scrapped shows are major arena dates including:

  • June 5 – State Farm Arena, Atlanta

  • June 7 – Madison Square Garden, New York

  • June 11 – Scotiabank Arena, Ontario, Canada

  • June 15 – CFG Bank Arena, Baltimore

With no formal explanation issued by Wizkid’s team, fans have been left to speculate. While some cling to hope for rescheduled dates, others are expressing concern over the star’s well-being — and frustrations over the silence.

The European leg of the Morayo Tour, however, is reportedly still set to continue as planned, with no signs of disruption at the time of reporting.

But in a subtle and telling post on social media, Wizkid’s close associate, Godson, hinted that the cancellations may stem from emotional strain rather than logistical or commercial issues. In response to a fan’s question, he wrote:
“Add him to your prayer. Personally, I think he’s still grieving and nobody is helping him achieve this. Sad.”

The cryptic remark has sparked a flood of messages from fans expressing empathy and support, urging the singer — whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun — to prioritize healing over performance.

Still, not everyone has responded with compassion. Critics have flooded X (formerly Twitter) with mockery, suggesting poor tour planning, bad timing, or dwindling ticket sales may be to blame. Some of the more brutal takes include:

@abazwhyllzz: “So none of his fans could buy ticket despite the ticket price reduction??? Brooo, this guy is finished.”

@bigHotbaby1: “Wizkid scheduled his tour the same day there’s a big game in New York? Who’s advising this guy?”

@Zillionhood: “WizKid should retire this year with little dignity, by 2026 he will be retiring with mucha shame on him.”

These reactions have also reignited familiar tensions between fanbases, as online users accused blogs and entertainment pages of selective reporting.

@sakpo0007_: “Nah you guys are unreal. No single post on your page about Davido’s ‘5ive’ Spotify streams deduction but yeah it’s Wizkid news, y’all are active now… Fvckers.”

@1stsonofdavido: “You see Wizkid downfall? I'm always there like Toyota Hilux…”

While the online noise grows louder, many of Wizkid’s loyal fans are choosing empathy over slander — urging the Starboy to take as much time as needed to recalibrate, mentally and emotionally.
