President Donald Trump marked the first 100 days of his second term with a campaign-style rally in Warren, Michigan, on Tuesday. Addressing thousands of supporters, Trump highlighted his administration's achievements, declaring they've done more in three months than most do in full terms. He emphasized immigration reforms, touting strict border measures and deportations, including showcasing a video of gang members arriving at a Salvadoran prison. Trump claimed credit for ending welfare benefits and birthright citizenship for undocumented immigrants' children. The rally also emphasized economic progress, with promises of new automotive jobs for Michigan due to favorable tax and tariff policies. Trump criticized past administrations for favoring China over American interests and pledged continued government downsizing by eliminating bureaucratic waste. He introduced high-profile aides and supporters on stage and teased future tax reforms under what he called “one big beautiful bill,” including eliminating taxes on tips, Social Security, and overtime. Despite recent polling dips, immigration remains his strongest approval area, hovering around 50%. Supporters responded enthusiastically to the speech, which displayed campaign momentum and previewed further policy goals.

However, the rally was not without controversy. During his speech, Trump mocked a protester he labeled a "radical left lunatic." After initially mistaking the protester’s gender, Trump corrected himself and joked that the woman would be going home to her Trump-supporting mother, to the applause of the crowd. A second protester was also removed from the event. In response, Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin criticized Trump’s claims as delusional and condemned the negative impact of his policies on working families, accusing him of a chaotic and harmful agenda.

The event underscored the deep political divide and the contentious nature of Trump’s presidency. While his supporters expressed enthusiasm, critics raised concerns about the implications of his policies and rhetoric. As Trump continues to push his agenda, the nation remains divided on the direction of the country.
