Nigerian global music sensation Tems is amplifying her commitment to empowering women across Africa with the launch of the Leading Vibe Initiative, a bold platform designed to elevate the voices and skills of women in music.
Set to kick off this August in Lagos, the initiative will provide women creators — from artists to songwriters and producers — with vital mentorship, training, and access to cutting-edge music production technology. Global audio tech giant Native Instruments is partnering on the program, helping to equip participants with industry-grade tools.
Applications for the inaugural edition are open until July 13 for women between 18 and 35 living in Nigeria.
“The Leading Vibe Initiative is about opening doors for the next generation of women in music across Africa. It’s about giving them the knowledge and the support they need to tell their stories through music,” Tems explained, highlighting her vision to create a ripple effect of opportunity across the continent.
Tems, who will also be joining Native Instruments’ artist board, hopes to leverage her platform to spotlight African women and their creative power on the global stage.
The Leading Vibe Initiative adds to a growing wave of projects uplifting women in Africa’s dynamic music landscape. She Voice Africa, Chocolate City’s Music Founders Fund, Sony Music West Africa’s In Her Element mentorship, and Girls in Afrobeats are among the movements pushing for equity, representation, and sustainable growth for female creatives.
With Tems leading the charge, a new generation of African women in music may soon find their own voices resonating across the world stage.
