Real Madrid are reportedly ready to intensify their pursuit of Real Sociedad’s standout midfielder Martin Zubimendi, as the Spanish giants prepare for a significant reshuffle in the heart of their squad this summer.

With midfield stalwarts Toni Kroos and Luka Modric nearing the twilight of their illustrious careers—Kroos missing large stretches this season and Modric’s future at the Bernabéu hanging in the balance—Los Blancos are keen to reinforce their engine room.

Sources close to the club suggest that 26-year-old Zubimendi has emerged as a priority target. Incoming head coach Xabi Alonso, expected to take over at the end of the season, is also believed to be a strong admirer of the Real Sociedad anchor man. His composure, tactical intelligence, and consistent performances have not gone unnoticed in the Spanish capital.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are gearing up to accelerate talks with Zubimendi’s camp, aiming to strike a deal before other European powerhouses—namely Arsenal—step in. Club president Florentino Pérez is said to view the Spain international as a natural heir to the deep-lying midfield role, long commanded by Madrid legends.

Despite the significant release clause attached to Zubimendi’s contract, optimism is reportedly growing in Madrid. The midfielder is open to the move, and Real Madrid’s resolve to complete the signing could prove decisive in the coming weeks.

Negotiations are expected to proceed under the radar, with all parties maintaining a low profile until concrete steps are made.

All signs point toward a pivotal summer for Zubimendi. And if Real Madrid have their way, the next chapter of his career will be written at the Santiago Bernabéu.
