Pastor Allegedly Kills 4 Siblings With Pestle in Igbo-Eze South

A wave of mourning and disbelief has swept through Eche Ezema community in Ibagwa Aka, Igbo-Eze South LGA of Enugu State, following the alleged brutal murder of four young siblings by a man identified as a pastor from a nearby Sabbath church.
The victims — Kamsiyochukwu (7), Ezinne (6), Ujunwa (5) and Chinedu Ezema (2) — were reportedly at home alone when tragedy struck. According to eyewitness accounts and family sources, the suspect allegedly scaled the family fence and attacked the children with a pestle, killing all four.
The suspected assailant, whose identity has not yet been officially released, is said to be in custody at the Divisional Police Station in Ibagwa Aka, as investigations into the gruesome act continue.
A relative who spoke to WafricNews on condition of anonymity shared a chilling account of the discovery.
“He used a pestle to kill them. The children were defenseless. We still can’t believe this happened,” the source said, barely holding back tears.
The children’s parents, Chinonso and Loveth Ezema, were reportedly away when the incident occurred. Speaking to WafricNews, the devastated father called for justice and a full-scale investigation.
“Our house shares a fence with the church where he preaches. We want the police to get to the root of this. Our children did not deserve to die like this,” Mr. Ezema said, his voice heavy with grief.
Police authorities in Ibagwa Aka have confirmed the incident but say investigations are ongoing.
“The case has been officially recorded. We’re gathering evidence and urge the public to remain calm while we do our job,” a police officer stated anonymously.
Meanwhile, shockwaves continue to ripple through the quiet community. Residents, still stunned by the horrific event, have begun holding vigils and calling on both the Enugu State Police Command and state government to ensure the case is not swept under the rug.
As the investigation deepens, questions remain unanswered: What could have driven a man of the cloth to commit such an unspeakable act? Was this premeditated? And who, if anyone, might be shielding him?
