Manchester United are making strong moves to finalise a deal for Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, as the Premier League giants look to boost their attacking options ahead of the new season.
According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, discussions between United and Cunha’s camp are progressing well, with the final touches on contract details now in motion.
“Manchester United keep working to seal Matheus Cunha deal very soon, plan confirmed since one week ago,” Romano revealed in a post on Monday, adding that the player is enthusiastic about joining the project at Old Trafford.
This latest update builds on Romano’s earlier report from April 21, where he confirmed that United were leading the race to sign the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker, despite interest from other clubs.
At the heart of the negotiations is Cunha’s reported £62.5 million release clause—a figure United are expected to match as they look to close the deal quickly. Personal terms have already been discussed, and all signs point to a shared desire to get the move done.
Romano also hinted at “good feelings” following early contacts between the player and the club, suggesting a mutual understanding is already in place.
Should the deal go through, Cunha would bring flair, energy, and versatility to United’s frontline—qualities the Red Devils are eager to inject into their squad as they plan for a stronger campaign next season.
