Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
— In a night that will be remembered as a milestone in music history, global superstar Lady Gaga performed for an astonishing crowd of over 2.5 million people at Copacabana Beach on Saturday, making it the most attended concert ever by a female artist.

The free, open-air performance marked Gaga’s triumphant return to Brazil after more than a decade, following the cancellation of her 2017 Rock in Rio appearance due to health issues. This time, she came back stronger than ever, delivering a visually stunning, five-act set that drew from across her career—including tracks from her latest album, Mayhem.

“This is more than just a concert, it’s history in the making,” Gaga told fans mid-show. “To the people of Brazil, you have given me the greatest moment of my life. Thank you for being the reason I get to shine.”

The show was a dazzling mix of choreography, fashion, and spectacle. Fans filled the iconic beachfront, spilling into nearby streets as they sang every lyric, danced to every beat, and illuminated the night with their energy. At one point, Gaga even acknowledged the fans who had serenaded her from outside her hotel leading up to the performance.

Beyond the music, Gaga used the platform to pay tribute to Brazil’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community. “Thank you for teaching us all about love, courage, and expression,” she said.

Her setlist featured a theatrical progression through her discography:

In response to the overwhelming success, Rio de Janeiro’s Mayor Eduardo Paes confirmed plans to make large-scale beachfront concerts a regular feature of the city’s cultural calendar.

Up next, Gaga is bringing her Mayhem Ball tour to the U.S. this summer, with multiple-night stops in major cities including Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Tickets are already in high demand.
