The incident unfolded Monday evening in front of a crowd of fans and paparazzi, as Kardashian, 44, exited the upscale hotel with her daughter North West, 11. A viral TikTok video captured the moment when one of her bodyguards tripped on the long, trailing part of her dramatic Met Gala ensemble—bringing Kardashian to a sharp halt.

Though her face was partially hidden under a wide-brimmed leather fedora, Kardashian didn’t hold back. She turned toward the bodyguard and, according to professional lip reader Nicola Hickling, was seen saying, “Can you watch where you step?”

The star quickly collected herself and hopped into a waiting vehicle bound for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the Gala was already underway. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” paid homage to Black dandyism and the role of fashion in Black cultural identity across the Atlantic diaspora.

Kardashian’s outfit turned heads: a corseted, curve-hugging Chrome Hearts set paired with a leather fedora, long waves of dark hair, and layers of diamond jewelry—including three necklaces, matching earrings, and pearls draped around her hip.
