A heated exchange between Kanye West, now known as Ye, and British talk show host Piers Morgan ended in a spectacular breakdown, with Morgan resorting to name-calling after Ye walked off just two minutes into the interview.
The tense encounter aired on Piers Morgan Uncensored, filmed remotely with Ye speaking from Spain and joined by controversial influencer Sneako. From the moment it began, the conversation veered off track—Ye immediately objected to being introduced by his former surname.
“I don’t use the term ‘West,’ you know, the whole drop the slave name idea?” he told Morgan, cutting him off mid-greeting.
Despite Morgan quickly switching to "Ye" and attempting to ease into the interview, it was clear both men came armed for conflict.
Tensions Ignite: Followers, Banks, and Identity
Morgan tried to steer the interview toward Ye's public persona and controversial comments, but Ye interrupted repeatedly, launching into a scattered yet impassioned defense of his beliefs and legacy.
He described himself as under attack by financial systems, stating:
“Being attacked by the banks—and still being here—is the win.”
Things escalated when Morgan brought up Ye’s large X following.
“You’ve got around 32 million followers—” “Now, look, you’re not gonna take inches off my d***, bro. How many followers do I have?” Ye snapped.
The exchange unraveled rapidly. Ye accused Morgan of misrepresenting him, dodging accountability, and undermining his influence.
“This is what you get for now. We can circle back when you can count,” Ye said before removing his earpiece and exiting the interview.
Sneako, still on camera, calmly added:
“That’s it for Ye, but it was nice to meet you, Piers.”

Unhappy with the sudden departure, Morgan took to X to vent his frustration—turning what was already a disastrous interview into a personal feud.
“Ye did walk out, after two minutes... because he’s a snivelling little coward,” Morgan wrote.
He accused Ye of dodging questions related to his past praise for Adolf Hitler and anti-Semitic comments:
“Happy to continue the interview when/if you grow a pair @kanyewest.”
In another post, he doubled down:
“We’ll circle back when he is ready to answer questions about why he loves Hitler and hates Jews.”
Morgan also referred to Ye as a “big baby” for leaving the set, echoing similar remarks he made after a previous walkout.
WafricNews Verdict: Ego, Evasion, or Erosion of Dialogue?
Once again, Ye finds himself at the center of global controversy—not just for his views, but for how he chooses to confront—or avoid—public scrutiny. But Morgan's personal attacks and inflammatory language raise questions, too.
This wasn't journalism. It was theatre.
In the end, both men played to their base: Ye standing firm in defiance of traditional media, and Morgan positioning himself as the fearless interrogator. But what was lost in the noise was any real attempt at understanding or accountability.
