Dubai — Emirates Group, the aviation giant behind the Middle East’s largest airline, has once again flown into the record books, announcing a staggering $6.2 billion gross annual profit — its highest ever, and the third record-breaking year in a row.
Fueled by surging global travel demand and strategic investments, the group’s net profit settled at $5.6 billion after accounting for the UAE’s newly introduced corporate tax, applied across the full financial year for the first time.
“The Emirates Group has raised the bar once again, setting new benchmarks for profit, revenue, and cash reserves,” said Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum in a statement released Thursday.
The group’s robust financial performance has been matched by major reinvestment, with $3.8 billion poured into new aircraft, cutting-edge technology, and infrastructure — all geared toward sustaining its ambitious growth trajectory.
Aviation Empire Expands
Emirates Group’s workforce hit a historic high, growing by 9% to reach 121,223 employees, underscoring the scale of its expansion.
A massive $1.6 billion dividend has also been declared for the group’s owner, the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD).
The airline division alone, Emirates Airlines, posted a record $5.8 billion pre-tax profit, a 20% jump from the previous year, while its revenue soared to $34.9 billion.
On the ground, Dnata, the group's airport services arm, reported a record $430 million pre-tax profit, a 2% rise from last year, further solidifying the group’s position across both air and land operations.
Future-Focused with a Massive Aircraft Pipeline
Looking ahead, Emirates is preparing for an aggressive fleet expansion, with 314 aircraft on order — including 61 Airbus A350s and 205 Boeing 777X jets.
In response to delays in aircraft deliveries, the group has launched a major retrofit initiative, pledging $5 billion to upgrade 219 aircraft. Sheikh Ahmed confirmed that 90% of the fleet will undergo retrofitting to ensure Emirates maintains its premium flying experience and operational efficiency.
